Kazek of Seppala is another of our Seppala Siberian Sled Dogs from JJ Bragg's Seppala Kennel. Like Cuchi, he is a pure Markovo Seppala.
He arrived in Oct 2010 along with Irina and Friddy, having made that long drive from Manitoba. He was a quiet, reserved dog during those initial few weeks, although having a few bitches in season seemed to help bring him out of his shell. He does like a sing song at night, he might consider it serenading his lady loves, we call it a disturbed night's sleep.
He is a very well built young dog with a generally calm demeanour. He does like a fence fight on occasion, but as soon as he is in amongst those same dogs, he just gets on with communal living.
He hadn't been harness broken as a yearling and on arrival here, that was something we set about as soon as he seemed to have settled. He does lack some of the confidence of the adult dogs who know what they are doing, and he found solo bike runs a little confusing at first. However once he was in a small 4 dog team, he willingly set to work and put his heart into pulling.
He has had an easy working winter this first year with us, however he has shown enough promise for me to be excited about having him run on the team next year.
